The nearest station is Redruth, 20 minutes' drive away, but Sean & Alex recommend getting off at Truro as the last part of journey is very slow and you could reach the Cabin by the time you reach Redruth by train. Church Cove at Gunwalloe is delightful with the church of St Winwalloe right beside the beach. Both are worth a visit, as is Barefoot Cafe on the road between Gunwalloe and Church Cove - best coffee in Cornwall and brownies to die for!
